"I met my ‘husband to be’ about 2 years ago. The way we met… it was love at first sight.

There are people who don’t believe in ‘Love at First sight’, I was one of them, but then Gianni came by and it was a very special feeling from the first second I saw him.

 

A while ago I went to Greece for about 4 months to do research for my studies. After being in Athens for 3 months and missing Gianni enormously, he came to Greece and we had booked a vacation to the Island ‘Naxos’ for 2 weeks.

The last day of our stay in Naxos I was very pleasantly surprised. Gianni woke me in the morning and told me to dress nice and to be ready in one hour. Of course I had some suspicions but I was so curious that I did what he said.
 

At 12 o’clock a taxi was waiting in front of our hotel. The taxi driver greeted us by our names, some more suspicion, and drove us to the airport of Naxos. It was very hot that day, like every other day on the island, but now I was so curious and nervous that I felt like it was even hotter outside than any other day.
 

We stepped out of the taxi and I followed Gianni inside the airport. After waiting a few minutes a man came to us, also he knew our names. We followed him outside to the airport flight path, and there my breath was taken away. The airport was empty and there standing, was only one airplane all covered in roses!!
 

I held Gianni’s hand, overwhelmed by the things I saw. He guided me into the airplane and there we went! Over the beautiful island of Naxos to another magnificent island, Santorini.

Above Santorini I looked in my skirt and saw a small box, YESSS a ring, a very precious ring! I didn’t even open the box, I looked at Gianni, began to cry and I said, “Yes, of course I want to marry you!!!!” and gave him a thousand kisses. Finally Gianni told me “won’t you open the box???”. With all the happiness I almost forgot that it was still sitting there on my skirt.

I opened it and Gianni put the ring on my finger. Still flying above Santorini the pilot was busy flying, yet also managed to hand to us a bottle of champagne with glasses and a bouquet beautiful lilies. In our euphoria, we opened the bottle of champagne. I kept wondering how Gianni put all of this together for me while not speaking Greek and in such a little amount of time (two weeks).

The flight back to Naxos we where kissing each other every second while sipping our champagne. The pilot gave us his best wishes and the ring is as beautiful as can be and it’s the right size. I still can’t imagine my love has organized all this for me in 2 weeks time, I’m still amazed!!

When we got back to the airport of Naxos I finally met the person who made all of this happen….Mimmika from Cardeia's! With her help, Gianni put together the most unforgettable day of my life!!!
